|Welcome To The Dance Havens Class Descriptions Page. All classes are graded by age and ability. Each class is designed to teach techniques in a positive way to allow the learning process to be fun, yet fulfilling through constructive teaching methods. Not sure, which class is the right one? WHY FLEX CLASSES?
As we grow in our dance ability developing a healthy range of motion allows us to move with a greater extention and keeps muscles limber and responsive to our daily activities. Everyone needs fitness flexibility and as dancers we need to increase our flexibility training as we advance into more diffiicult training. There are two kinds of flexibility. One is static flexibility which is the capacity to move a joint through its full range of motion. The other is dynamic flexibility which results in having responsive muscles which are conditioned for their elastic properties in order to move a joint through its full range of motion. Both types of flexibility require stretching. Our flex class will include dance conditioning, pilates and mat exceresises.
BENEFITS OF FLEX CLASSES
Increases flexibility. Flexible muscles can improve your daily performance in all classes and other activities.
Improves range of motion of your joints. Good range of motion keeps you in better balance, which will help keep you mobile and less prone to falls and the related injuries.
Improves circulation. Stretching increases blood flow to your muscles. Improved circulation can speed recovery after muscle injuries.
Relieve stress. Stretching relaxes the tense muscles that often accompany stress giving advanced students a sense of ease as they tackle, school, work and dance responsibilities.
FLEX CLASSES REQUIREMENTS & RATES. ALL RDT STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE AT LEAST ONE FLEX CLASS A WEEK. RDT STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE FLEX TRAINING AT A DISCOUNT RATE OF $10.00 A MONTH FOR UP TO TWO CLASSES A WEEK. STUDENTS MAY MAKE UP THEIR FLEX CLASS ON A DIFFERENT DAY BUT MUST NOTIFY INSTRUCTOR.
ALL OTHER STUDENTS INTERESTED IN TAKING OUR FLEX CLASS MAY JOIN IN AN OPEN SESSION FOR $5.00 PER CLASS AND NEED TO SIGN UP FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 CLASSES.
ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN DURING EACH CLASS.
